SYTA Awards Travel Grant to 15 8th Graders

KMAM is excited to announce that the SYTA Youth Foundation recently granted nearly $5,000 for the 2018 8th grade trip to Washington DC. Students with the top 15 character achievements at school were awarded the funds, enabling them to explore George Washington University, Howard University, The Museum of African American History, and much more. Students will spend 4 days exploring our nation's capital, with food, lodging, and transportation all provided by SYTA. These trips offer a great opportunity to explore the national landmarks after learning US History in 8th grade, along with eye-opening tour of HBCU's and liberal arts schools that will inform their goals throughout high school. KMAM provides this trip each year for our 8th grade class after extensive fundraising, and we are so grateful for the SYTA's sponsorship this year.
