Continuous learning is one of KIPP’s core values. We believe there’s always room to learn, grow, and improve at each stage of your career. KIPP fosters on-going growth and development through job-embedded coaching, school, and regional-wide professional development. Additionally, many of our teachers and staff participate in national leadership training through the KIPP School Leadership Programs.
We believe that higher-performing schools are ones where the school leader is relentlessly focused on developing teacher instruction. KMAM teachers receive support to improve their craft and achieve educational excellence through individualized coaching and job-embedded training, instructional toolkits and curriculum implementation plans, and resources to share and collaborate with colleagues across the network.
KIPP and KIPP Memphis Academy Middle are always looking for talented educators looking to develop and grow as leaders. We believe, and 30 years of research confirms, that the best way to develop leaders is 70% on-the-job learning, supported by 20% coaching, feedback, and mentoring and 10% formal training. We provide multiple opportunities for teachers and leaders to grow as leaders whether they desire serving our school as a Teacher Leader, Dean, Assistant Principal, or School Leader.
Since KIPP Memphis Academy Middle is just one of more than 200 KIPP schools around the country, we have a national network to collaborate with and learn from. This happens through formal learning opportunities like KIPP School Summit as well as in countless other ways such as curricula and best practice sharing.
